The Chicago Tribune reports the Chicago Bears met with the player rep for free agent Julius Peppers over the past weekend. We’re waiting more information because a meeting to discuss Peppers before the onset of free agency would constitute tampering.

Chicago has Released Orlando Pace

The Chicago Bears have released LT Orlando Pace. Pace isn’t yet 35 and was due a reasonable $3.75M salary in 2010, but his performance as both a pass and run blocker last year was indicative of a player that’s fallen “off the cliff.”

A Chargers official confirmed Friday that Darren Sproles will not be tendered as a restricted free agent. A tender would have required San Diego to pay him nearly $7M.
