Vince Young completed 27-of-43 passes for 387 yards and one touchdown to lead the Titans to a comeback victory over the Cardinals in Week 12, 20-17. A nearly flawless and improving Young converted three fourth downs, including the game-winning touchdown pass to Kenny Britt, on a 99-yard drive in the two minute drill. Showing impressive accuracy, confidence, and decision-making, Young has now won nine consecutive starts dating back to 2007. The new and improved version of Vince Young feasted on a defense gearing up to stop Chris Johnson, leading the Titans to 532 total yards. Perhaps other teams can learn from benching young, but talented quarterbacks and hop they play better latter in their career (Raiders).
Elsewhere around the NFL:
Minnesota: Vikings QB Brett Favre completed 32-of-48 passes for 392 yards with three touchdowns and no interceptions in Sunday’s win over the Bears. The Minnesota Vikings surprisingly came out with a pass-heavy attack, throwing the ball 31 times against 12 rushes in the first half. It appears that Favre’s body is going to hold up for the entire year, which could lead him to winning the MVP. Favre has 12 touchdown passes in his last four games heading into next week’s matchup with the Cardinals.
Cleveland: Browns NT Shaun Rogers (ankle) was spotted hobbling out of the stadium on crutches after Sunday’s loss. Rogers’ face looked “distraught,” and the Cleveland Browns Plain Dealer speculates that the All Pro could be out for an “extended period,” which would ruin an already ineffective Browns run defense.
Tennessee: Chris Johnson rushed 18 times for 154 yards and a touchdown and added three receptions for 32 yards against the Cardinals in Week 12. The Cardinals thought they had Johnson in check until he found a seam and broke off an 85-yard touchdown run late in the third quarter. Johnson is amazingly on pace for 2,024 rushing yards, 2,450 total yards, and 15 touchdowns. He’ll look to continue his hot streak at Indy next week.
San Diego: Antonio Gates caught seven passes for 118 yards with two touchdowns in Sunday’s win over the Chiefs. Gates was wide-open down the middle of the field on almost every passing play.
Washington: Redskins QB Jason Campbell revealed that everything was “blacked out” after he was thrown to the ground on the Washington Redskins’ final offensive play Sunday. It isn’t yet known if Campbell suffered a concussion, but he did say his left arm went numb for a little bit. Campbell appeared to have concussion-like symptoms after the hit.
Philadelphia: Eagles coach Andy Reid confirmed that DeSean Jackson suffered a concussion in Sunday’s win over the Eagles. Jackson took a helmet-to-helmet hit over the middle from London Fletcher and was dazed.
