The Denver Broncos have agreed to terms with CB Ty Law. Law, 35, can be linked with Broncos coach Josh McDaniels while he played for New England. Law will provide solid depth at nickel back behind Champ Bailey and Andre’ Goodman. Between Bailey, FS Brian Dawkins, and Law, the Denver Broncos’ league-oldest back end now has 20 Pro Bowls.
Elsewhere around the NFL:
Arizona: According to ESPN’s John Clayton, Cardinals WR Anquan Boldin (questionable) looked “great” on the practice field Friday and is expected to suit up Sunday against the Bears. Officially, Boldin remains a game-day decision, but most signs point to him facing Chicago.
Indianapolis: Colts RB Donald Brown was added to the Colts’ Week 9 injury report as “questionable” after missing Friday’s practice. Brown, who is listed as a game-time decision, practiced in full on both Wednesday and Thursday. No indications were given that Brown suffered a setback after Thursday’s practice.
Indianapolis: Colts placed SS Bob Sanders on injured reserve with a torn left biceps, ending his season. Beat reporter Philip B. Wilson speculates that the Indianapolis Colts will cut their losses with Sanders in the offseason. When healthy, Sanders is one of the best defensive players in the game but he has not been able to stay off the injury report his entire career.
Indianapolis: Colts beat writer Philip B. Wilson is skeptical that WR Anthony Gonzalez (knee surgery) will be back to his normal self by season’s end. “He’s been out so long,” Wilson writes. “Maybe he can be, but it just seems unlikely.” Now might be the best time to drop Gonzalez in your fantasy team and cut your losses.
Atlanta: Falcons WR Roddy White (knee) returned to practice on a limited basis Friday and is expected to start Sunday versus Washington. “I anticipate them being ready to go,” coach Mike Smith said of White. The Atlanta Falcons scaled back Whites practice time this week in hopes that he will be ready on Sunday to face the Saints.
Miami: Dolphins NT Jason Ferguson (elbow) is listed as doubtful for Week 9. If Ferguson is not able to play on Sunday, Laurence Maroney will receive a small boost in his fantasy value.
Updating a previous item, Devin Hester’s (ankle) practice participation Friday was “limited.” He’s listed as questionable for Week 9.
Chicago: Bears WR Devin Hester’s (ankle) practice participation Friday was “limited.” He’s listed as questionable for Week 9 but both ESPN’s John Clayton and Brad Biggs of the Chicago Sun Times report that Hester will be active against the Cardinals.
